Chloe Dee Noble ~ Painter & Sculptor

Chloe Dee Noble is a painter and sculptor. Chloe recently relocated her art studio to southern California after closing her art gallery in Carmel-by-the-Sea. She continues to visit the Monterey Bay often to work on bronze sculptures at the foundry.

Originally from rural Georgia in the southeastern part of the United States, her imagination was inspired by the rich countryside, animals and streams. As a young girl her first drawings were of tiny violets growing along the creek that meandered thru her family's farm.

Influential in the development of her creativity were an aunt and uncle. She painted birds on china plates under the tutelage of her aunt, while her uncle sat at the piano singing World War II songs while Chloe learned to play them. Music has remained a constant in her life. She authored more than two hundred songs, poems and short stories, published under a nom de plume.

After attending High Museum's Fine Art Program (Atlanta Art Institute) Chloe took her first art job, that of illustrator with Department of the Army, Washington, D.C. With plenty of work coming across her drawing table, she soon realized she was creating propaganda brochures and illustrations to promote United States involvement with the war in Vietnam. Saddened by the war, she left art altogether and became a fashion model with assignments in Boston, Milan, Atlanta, Chicago, New York and Los Angeles. She never took another commercial art job, but chose to savor the art experience on a personal level reserved for family and friends. She continued studies at UCLA and the Royal College of Art in London.

Career Highlights of the Sculptor/Painter

Chloe has had a varied and interesting career because she remains optimistic and adventurous. Life has been difficult at times, but the artist starts her day no later than four o'clock in the morning in the art studio surrounded by paints and sculpture supplies -- no matter what else is going on around her.
She takes a quiet day once a week for meditation and prayer.

She has received many awards, some of which include: Who's Who in America, Who's Who in the World, Who's Who of American Women, Who's Who of American Business Women. Decorated by three countries: baroness, the Netherlands; dame, Italy; received Great Britain's silver medal of honor (they only award silver and bronze), dame; and the lifetime achievement award as noted by the United States Library of Congress in Washington, D.C.

Chloe has participated in numerous art organizations and competitions. She enjoys teaching in any setting, has been juror, board member, chaired many art exhibits and served as director of the prestigious Outdoor Summer Art Festival in Carmel-by-the-Sea, California.

Her work has been placed in permanent museum collections and is often auctioned to raise funds for organizations who help those with vision loss, AIDS and foundations who help children. The Chloe Dee Noble Foundation was established in 1976 when she first set up a scholarship fund for continuing art students at Santa Monica College.

Chloe loves to travel, meet new people and to sketch, paint and sculpt on her various journeys. She is in love with many places and many people. Let us say that she is mostly in love with each moment of her life . . .to her each moment is a miracle . . .the bitter and the sweet. She takes pleasure in simple things and enjoys an uncomplicated and uncluttered life.

Bronze Sculpture

in limited editions with certificates of authenticity. Chloe also accepts commissions for portraits rendered in terracotta or bronze, created slightly smaller than lifesize -- something she learned from her studies of Auguste Rodin's sculpture while in Paris.

Limited editions of Watercolor

reproduced exactly as the original on fine art papers, signed and numbered with certificates of authenticity. Subjects available: horses, dogs, cats, birds, seascapes, landscapes, floral, romantic soft figurative.

I often paint sunflowers from the garden, then when the flowers are dried I tie them with ribbons and tie them to tree branches so the birds can get the seeds, then I paint the birds.

Oil on Canvas

is her most recent collection. Consisting of large colorful canvas representing people in all aspects of life. She works weekly with live models to create stunning works of art to be treasured for many lifetimes. Reproduced in museum quality giclee on canvas, over painted by the artist, signed and numbered in small editions.

Noble Fine Art Plan

All works of art may be placed on the Noble Fine Art Plan. With ten percent initial payment, the balance is billed in interest free and affordable payments. This provides an opportunity for everyone to build a financial portfolio to include fine art that will appreciate in value.
